I wrote 2000 words today on “The Deadman’s Hand.”
I panicked last night when I realized that one of the stories from the anthology Hell’s Hangmen: Horror in the Old West by Pasquale Morrone also had a story with that title. I read it and was very glad that the stories were completely different.
Morrone’s story is about the ghost of Jack McCall.
My story is about a gambler named Finneas Bagley seeking to enter a poker game with the exact deck of cards used the night Wild Bill Hickock died. Of course, the deck of cards is cursed. bwa-ha-ha.
I also came up with an idea for a story based around Lewston, WA. I’ll have to talk to Lisa about it.
